My baby refused to drink other formulas, but drinks this one good.
I received a coupon for sharing my experience with this product. All opinions are my own.
I’m not 100% happy about the ingredients. Canola oil? I also feel as though it doesn’t shake easily. The powder doesn’t dissolve in the water perfectly. Perhaps I’m not doing something right???
Hi Megan, thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We completely understand wanting to feel confident about both the ingredients and how the formula prepares.
Regarding your question about canola oil: Capricare is made with natural whole goat milk, which means we rely on milk fats as the primary fat source. However, all infant formulas are required to include certain essential fatty acids to support a baby’s development. We include small amounts of non-GMO canola and sunflower oils to provide:
- Omega-6 (linoleic acid) to support immune function and healthy inflammatory responses
- Omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid), which helps support brain development as a precursor to DHA
Canola oil was carefully chosen because it provides both omega-6 and omega-3, and is a suitable alternative to soy (a common allergen). It’s also important to note that all infant formulas must include some level of vegetable oils to meet nutritional regulations. Thanks to our use of whole goat milk (with naturally higher milk fat), we’re able to keep added oils lower than many skim milk-based formulas.
For the mixing experience, we appreciate you flagging this. A few tips that may help:
- Add powder to water (not the other way around)
- Use water that has been boiled and cooled to room temperature
- Shake the bottle immediately and vigorously after adding the powder
- Ensure scoops are level and not packed
